French-German Dual Degree

Sciences Po Lille / Universität Münster

Build your future across France and Germany.

The Franco-German Dual Degree offers an integrated binational programme in political and social sciences.

Alongside the Sciences Po Lille Degree, students can earn both a German Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Münster (Universität Münster).

French- and German-speaking students alternate between Lille and Münster throughout the programme, studying within integrated Franco-German cohorts and developing a truly binational academic experience.

The programme is supported by the Franco-German University.

Study Plan — Franco-German Dual Degree

1st Year

Start your journey in Lille

The first year is spent at Sciences Po Lille as part of the core curriculum. Students build their academic and methodological foundations while receiving intensive German-language training.

2nd Year

Immerse yourself in Münster

The second year takes place at the University of Münster’s Institute of Political Science (IfPol). Students can broaden their academic perspective by taking courses in other departments, including communication, geography, political economy, and sociology.

3rd Year

Return to Lille and specialise

Students return to Sciences Po Lille for their third year. They choose from one of the 14 available majors and complete a Bachelor’s thesis (Bachelorarbeit), jointly assessed by Sciences Po Lille and the University of Münster.

4th Year

Take your studies to Master’s level

The fourth year is spent at IfPol, where students pursue Master’s-level courses and deepen their expertise in political and social sciences.

5th Year

Choose your final pathway

In the fifth year, students choose between two pathways:

  • Complete the Sciences Po Lille Degree: pursue a chosen major and complete an internship or apprenticeship, together with a final thesis jointly assessed by both institutions;
  • Complete the Master’s programme at IfPol: spend the final year at the University of Münster and write a Master’s thesis (Masterarbeit), jointly assessed by both institutions.

Tuition & Financial Support

Students pay tuition fees to the institution where they are enrolled each year.

At Sciences Po Lille, tuition fees are determined according to family income and range from €0 to €6,400 per year. Fees are reviewed annually.

At the University of Münster, there are no tuition fees. Students pay administrative and semester fees of approximately €350 per semester.

Subject to continued support from the Franco-German University, students also receive a mobility scholarship when studying at the partner institution. The scholarship currently amounts to €3,500 per year.
