Why Choose Sciences Po Lille?

Teaching here is informed by active research, led by faculty members who advance knowledge in political science, law, economics, sociology, history, international relations, and environmental transitions. Each program includes a mandatory year abroad within a network of more than 230 partner universities in some 50 countries, allowing students to learn how to thrive in multicultural environments. Civic engagement is an integral part of the curriculum, through student organizations, group projects, and initiatives focused on solidarity, culture, or the environment.

  • Becoming the Decision-Makers and Citizens of Tomorrow

Sciences Po Lille prepares students to take on leadership roles in the public, private, nonprofit, cultural, and international sectors. The School combines the academic rigor of the grandes écoles with the values of public service: openness, equal opportunity, diversity of backgrounds, and a commitment to serving society.

Each year, it welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, selected for their potential, intellectual curiosity, and analytical skills. Every student is encouraged to develop critical thinking, engage with differing perspectives, and form their own views on the major challenges of our time.

Thanks to its partners, Sciences Po Lille operates within a leading academic environment while maintaining the close-knit atmosphere and human scale that characterize its model. Students benefit from personalized support, a vibrant student life, and an environment conducive to both their personal growth and academic success.

  • Understanding to Act More Effectively

The challenges of the 20th century cannot be addressed through a single discipline. Democratic crises, ecological transitions, economic shifts, digital transformations, and geopolitical issues require us to integrate diverse perspectives and develop a comprehensive understanding of the world.

This is why the curriculum at Sciences Po Lille is based on a multidisciplinary approach combining political science, law, economics, history, sociology, international relations, and languages. This diversity of courses enables students to acquire a solid general education, as well as the analytical and critical thinking skills essential for understanding complex situations.

Methodology seminars, group projects, case studies, simulations, and debates play a central role in the School’s pedagogy. They foster independence, critical thinking, argumentation skills, and a passion for dialogue—all skills highly valued in the professional world.

This approach makes Sciences Po Lille a school where students learn both to analyze and to take action.

  • A Unique International Experience

At Sciences Po Lille, an international experience is not an option—it is an essential part of every student’s journey. The third year must be spent abroad, in the form of a study abroad program, an internship, volunteer work, or a professional experience.

Thanks to a network of more than 230 partner universities across more than fifty countries, each student designs a path aligned with their academic, professional, and personal aspirations. This mobility helps students develop language, intercultural, and interpersonal skills that are particularly sought after in an increasingly connected world.

International openness is also evident on campus, which welcomes numerous international students each year and fosters daily intercultural exchanges. Dual degrees, academic partnerships, and international conferences further enrich this aspect, a true hallmark of Sciences Po Lille’s identity.

Beyond mobility, this experience fosters independence, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in multicultural environments.

  • Building Your Future Throughout Your Academic Journey

At Sciences Po Lille, career preparation is part of a gradual process. From the very first years, students receive support in shaping their personal and professional goals through internships, group projects, career-focused conferences, meetings with professionals, and individualized guidance.

Throughout the program, each student can refine their academic focus by choosing from more than twenty master’s-level programs, several dual-degree options, and tracks available through apprenticeship programs. The courses combine academic knowledge, real-world scenarios, and presentations by professionals recognized in their fields.

The network of more than 7,600 alumni is also a major asset. Active in all sectors, both in France and internationally, graduates share their experience, guide students in their choices, and support their transition into the workforce.

This progressive approach allows each student to build a coherent academic path aligned with their aspirations and the needs of the professional world.

  • Studying in the Heart of a Dynamic European Metropolis

Choosing Sciences Po Lille also means choosing an exceptional learning environment. Located in the heart of Lille, less than an hour by TGV from Paris, Brussels, and London, the School benefits from a unique European presence and a region that is particularly dynamic economically, culturally, and academically.

The campus combines the heritage of the former law and humanities faculties with contemporary spaces designed to foster interaction, collaborative work, and student life. With the opening of its new building in 2025—the Atelier—Sciences Po Lille will further enrich its offerings by providing new spaces dedicated to teaching, research, and collaborative projects.

Beyond the buildings, the entire city becomes a place of learning. Institutions, businesses, organizations, cultural venues, and partners offer numerous opportunities for engagement, networking, and experiences throughout the program.

Studying at Sciences Po Lille means fully embracing the student experience in a young, creative, and globally-minded European metropolis.
