Master’s program Multilateralism and Transnational Governance

General overview

The Master’s programme in Multilateralism and Transnational Governance (MTG), taught entirely in English, trains future specialists in international cooperation, multilateralism and global governance by providing a critical understanding of the contemporary transformations of the international system. It offers an interdisciplinary curriculum combining political science, international relations, law, geography and public policy to analyse the actors, institutions and regulatory mechanisms shaping global governance. Students develop the analytical and methodological skills required to understand and address transnational challenges in areas such as climate change, digital governance, migration, global health and international security. The programme places particular emphasis on the sociology of international organisations, European and global governance, and the regulation of transnational issues.

Main career opportunities

Professional development is a central component of the programme. It combines courses taught by academics with contributions from practitioners working in international organisations, diplomatic services, European institutions, NGOs, public administrations and consulting firms.

During the second semester of the second year, students either complete a six-month internship in France or abroad or follow a dedicated research track, for those intending to pursue doctoral studies in International Relations or related fields.
